Trees play an integral role in landscape design, from defining garden spaces to softening architecture and acting as focal points. Tour the garden with former Director of Public Programs, Laurel Rimmer, to observe how trees, garden structures, paths, plant combinations and other design elements define Wave Hill’s sense of place. Archtober event. Ages 10 and older welcome with an adult. Tickets required for all participants. Severe Weather Cancels.

Laurel Rimmer is the Program and Marketing Director at Stonecrop Gardens in Cold Spring, NY, She holds a BA in Art History from Duke University and earned her Masters in Landscape Architecture at Cornell University. Prior to joining the staff at Stonecrop, she worked at Wave Hill for 28 years, most recently as the Director of Public Programs. Growing up in northern New Jersey, Laurel discovered a love for plants and nature while exploring the woodlands surrounding her family’s home in the Ramapo
Mountains. She developed her practical skills in horticulture and design working in public and private gardens from Pennsylvania to Hawaii. She lives with her family and assorted pets in Cold Spring, NY where she indulges her passion for plants in her personal garden
