2020 Nursery Fellow

(Volunteer Opportunities) Return to Volunteer Opportunities

Start Date: February 2020

Summary
Gowanus Canal Conservancy (GCC) is a community-based non-profit organization that serves as the environmental steward for the Gowanus Canal Watershed.

GCC manages a native plant nursery, where we grow an array of urban-adapted native plants for sale and for planting projects in Gowanus. Volunteers and students are integral to nursery operations, providing direct plant care, propagation, and ongoing research. We are looking for a nursery fellow who enjoys working with people of all ages to conduct propagation, stewardship, and tracking in our native plant nursery for the 2020 season. The flexible hours make this a good opportunity for a student, retiree, or someone looking to learn more about native plants, horticulture or nursery production.
