Start Date: ASAP  Compensation: $72,800 per year

The Account Manager is a highly knowledgeable horticulturist and experienced people manager who serves as the primary liaison between clients, horticulture staff, and leadership. This role is ideal for someone who combines strong client relationship management with deep expertise in interior plant care. The Account Manager is accountable for plant health across assigned sites, client satisfaction, and team development, ensuring Greenery NYC’s standards are upheld through proactive oversight and communication.

Responsibilities/Duties

  • Serve as the main point of contact for all client communications, including scheduling, feedback, and access coordination.
  • Own the success of assigned client sites—monitor plant health, aesthetic standards, and schedule replacements or supplies as needed.
  • Continuously seek opportunities to enhance and optimize sites both operationally and aesthetically, proactively identifying improvements in layout, plant selection, and service efficiency.
  • Support, guide, and communicate with Senior and Junior Horticulturists via in-person visits and digital platforms.
  • Lead training efforts for new team members, create training resources, and foster professional development.
  • Troubleshoot plant health issues and irrigation systems, and provide hands-on support when necessary.
  • Conduct site assessments for prospective clients, develop plant care plans, and assist with onboarding.
  • Monitor and manage team performance through regular check-ins, feedback, and performance evaluations.
  • Ensure accurate and timely documentation of site activity, using internal platforms such as Monday.com, Google Suite, Microsoft and Aspire.
  • Coordinate staff schedules to optimize site coverage and ensure workload balance.
  • Contribute to plant selection and design discussions based on a strong understanding of interior conditions and plant behavior.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Proven experience managing both client relationships and team members in a horticulture or service-oriented environment.
  • Advanced knowledge of interior plant species, plant care best practices, and integrated pest management.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to translate between field teams and upper management.
  • Positive, solutions-oriented attitude with a commitment to team growth and company values.
  • Comfortable using and training others on internal software tools.
  • Flexibility to travel between client sites and respond to urgent plant care needs as required.
