Start Date: mid to late March  Compensation: $22 - $26/hour, depending on experience

We are a design and build gardening company that is Brooklyn-based and women-owned. We specialize in the installation and maintenance of residential and commercial gardens, including rooftops, terraces, inground, container gardens, and common spaces in Brooklyn and Manhattan.

We are looking for a gardener to join our team between 3 and 5 days per week, beginning mid to late March, and working through the full gardening season that ends in mid-December. The ideal candidate shares our love of all things gardening, works efficiently, and is eager to learn!

Responsibilities/Duties

• Follow direction from our lead gardener to switch out seasonal plantings in established gardens, install new gardens, and perform detailed maintenance in each garden
• Tasks include preparing garden beds and planters, planting according to design plans, pruning, weeding, trimming, dividing, transplanting, and cleaning up all hardscaping areas

Qualifications/Requirements

• Experience as a gardener in an urban setting, at least 1 full season
• Ability to perform heavy physical labor (some days lifting 40-50 lbs repeatedly) and be on your feet all day
• Willingness to work in inclement weather
• Ability to multi-task
• Excellent communication and ability to work on a team
• Driver’s license is a plus
