Compensation: $55,000-$55,000
The Henry Kaufmann Campgrounds is seeking an Assistant Site Superintendent, with property management background to take ownership of and oversee all aspects of landscape operations of our 325-acre Long Island site including the many grass sports fields, multiple pools complexes and general program areas.

Responsibilities/Duties
The Assistant Site Superintendent for Landscape Operations (ASSLO), is a hands-on position that brings in expertise in athletic field maintenance/landscaping to the property management team and takes ownership of the landscape maintenance work.
As ASSLO you will report to the Property Manager (PM) and be a part of the small leadership team managing planning the work that needs to get done, delegating tasks to the work crew, and taking on the more difficult work yourself.
WORK SCHEDULE
This year-round position works a full-time schedule of 7 AM - 3:30 PM, Monday to Friday during our off season (September - April). During the ramp up to camp (May - June) the hours may be longer and for the 8 weeks of camp, the schedule may shift.
Qualifications/Requirements
The ideal candidate will have a degree or certificate in Agronomy, Landscape Management, Turfgrass Science/Management or related field, 3-years professional experience in turf or athletic field maintenance, groundskeeping or landscaping in a similar environment and 3-years management experience.
This candidate will also have working knowledge in such areas as painting, vehicle and machinery operation, or general maintenance and have proficiency in the safe and proper use of power equipment and tools, heavy and light machinery, and building materials AND HAVE
- the ability to lift equipment and supplies up to 40 pounds.
- the ability and endurance to perform tasks while standing/walking for long periods of time.
- Willingness to work irregular hours and operate with daily exposure to the sun and heat/cold and other environmental conditions.
