CREW LEAD / SITE SUPERINTENDENT
A Brooklyn-based Landscape Design-Build agency specializing in urban outdoor environments is searching for an experienced and proactive Site Superintendent/Crew Lead to work on a range of high-end residential, commercial, and institutional projects. Developing small spaces with an eye on style, practical details, and timelessness, our projects range from rooftop terraces, Brownstone backyards, boutique hotels, and custom furnishings.
Responsibilities/Duties
- Lead on-site installation of landscape and architectural elements, interpreting drawings and guiding crew toward daily and long-term goals.
- Supervise and train crew in safety, quality control, tool handling, and equipment use, ensuring compliance with company and OSHA standards.
- Manage site and shop organization, cleanliness, and material/tools logistics, coordinating procurement with Directors.
- Conduct quality checks on-site and in the shop to uphold craftsmanship and resolve issues promptly.
- Coordinate schedules with designers, project managers, and subcontractors to maintain momentum and proper sequencing.
- Participate in pre-construction meetings and lead site kickoffs; track progress with daily logs and updates to leadership.
- Maintain records including timesheets, labor logs, and weather reports; oversee required inspections and permits.
- Represent the company on-site with clients and neighbors, managing access, expectations, and urban site logistics.
- Ensure execution of design details with precision; collaborate with design team on real-time adjustments as needed.
- Monitor and report on crew attendance, behavior, and performance issues.
Qualifications/Requirements
- Valid driver’s license
- Proven experience in carpentry, masonry, and other landscape construction trades
- Prior supervisory experience leading field crews
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings
- High level of accountability and problem-solving in dynamic field environments
- Experience using compactors, laser levels, and transit tools
- Experience with softscape installation and irrigation is a plus

Salary Range: $70,000 - $85,000 annually
