Start Date: mid to late March  Compensation: $26 - $30/hour, depending on experience

We are a design and build gardening company that is Brooklyn-based and women-owned. We specialize in the installation and maintenance of residential and commercial gardens, including rooftops, terraces, inground, container gardens, and common spaces in Brooklyn and Manhattan.

We are looking for an experienced gardener to join our team between 3 and 5 days per week, beginning mid to late March, and working through the full gardening season that ends in mid-December. The ideal candidate shares our love of all things gardening, and can work both independently and with the direction of a lead gardener.

Responsibilities/Duties

• Installations: load in, prepare beds and/or planters, plant according to design plans, clean up, and load out
• Maintenance: prune, weed, trim, divide, transplant, swap out seasonal plantings, and clean up existing gardens
• Some experience with drip irrigation and low-voltage lighting systems a plus

Qualifications/Requirements

• Experience as a paid professional gardener in an urban setting, at least 2 full seasons
• Ability to perform heavy physical labor (some days lifting 40-50 lbs repeatedly) and be on your feet all day
• Willingness to work in inclement weather
• Ability to multi-task
• Excellent communication, problem solving, and ability to work on a team
• Driver’s license is a plus
