Start Date: ASAP Compensation: $32-$38/hr
Parker Meadows is a Brooklyn based, boutique garden design company providing design, installation, and maintenance. We are seeking a freelance design assistant to help with design documents. The ideal candidate would also be available to help with installation in the field. We are hiring ASAP with a 2 week trial basis.
Responsibilities/Duties
- Create landscape design drawings using Adobe Suite and CAD tools
- Create mood boards with plants/materials images to support layout drawings
- Prepare plant lists and sourcing of plant options/ materials
- Create correlating project estimates for proposed designs that align scope, timeline, costs
- Coordinate with contractors/architects about design/building plans, pricing, and set up timelines
- Assisting with installations and on site plant set up of garden installs and arrangement of seasonal plantings
Qualifications/Requirements
- 3+ years experience of garden design/horticulture in NYC, preferable private/residential
- Comprehensive knowledge of NYC plant culture “Right plant, right place”
- Creative, visually minded thinker with solid drawing skills who can turn ideas into compelling visuals
- Proficiency in Adobe Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop) and CAD tools
- Experience in proposal development with project estimation and cost planning
- A team player that can follow instructions well and communicate appropriately
