 Compensation: $25-30/hour

Variegated NYC, a full-service greenery design and care company, is seeking a reliable, detail-oriented freelance driver to support plant deliveries, installations, and maintenance throughout New York City. Work is primarily based in Manhattan, with additional projects in Brooklyn, Queens, and event spaces across the five boroughs.

The ideal candidate is confident navigating NYC traffic in vans or small-to-medium trucks and is comfortable handling both larger plants (up to 50 lbs) and more delicate specimens with care. This is a hands-on, collaborative role that supports both studio operations and on-site client work. An appreciation for horticulture and a basic understanding of plant care are strong pluses.

Responsibilities/Duties

  • Safely operate and help maintain the interior condition of company vehicles
  • Deliver plants and materials and assist with installations throughout NYC
  • Support weekly plant maintenance for office and residential clients
  • Prepare plants for installation, including staging, repotting, and light prep work
  • Receive, organize, and inventory incoming deliveries of plants, pots, and materials
  • Assist with identifying and troubleshooting basic plant care issues as they arise

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Strong familiarity with navigating NYC traffic, parking, loading zones, and tight delivery schedules
  • Ability to lift and move plants and materials weighing up to 35–50 lbs and remain on your feet for extended periods
  • Reliable, punctual, and highly organized, with strong communication and time-management skills
  • Working knowledge of indoor plants and their basic care requirements
  • Comfortable working independently while collaborating closely with installation and plant care teams
  • Flexible availability, including occasional early mornings, evenings, weekends, or event-based schedules as needed
  • Hands-on experience with plants (including repotting and staging) preferred

Nice to Have:

  • Outdoor plant experience
  • Interest in plant styling, interior landscaping, or growth within the plant design field
