Compensation: $55,000 - $65,000 per year
Perennial Gardens is seeking a full time Garden Center Manager to oversee all aspects of our retail location. We need a hands on leader who can balance high level plant health oversight with exceptional customer consultations. The ideal candidate will have a passion for plants and gardening, along with strong leadership skills to manage a team effectively.
Responsibilities/Duties
- Manage day-to-day operations of the garden center, including inventory management, sales, and customer service
- Supervise and train staff members to ensure excellent customer service and product knowledge
- Ability to buy quality products, such as pottery, plants and stay on top of trends in our industry
- Be aware of what customers' needs are
- Keep the garden center clean and appealing during all seasons
- Track sales performance and help meet seasonal goals
- Interviewing and hiring of new employees
- Handle customer inquiries and resolve any issues in a professional manner
Qualifications/Requirements
- Excellent customer service skills
- Previous experience managing a garden center
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively
- Knowledge of plant care, gardening techniques, and horticulture
- Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks efficiently
- Ability to work well in a team environment
- Strong problem-solving abilities
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proficient in POS systems
- Comfortable working outdoors in all seasons
