Start Date: March 1  Compensation: $25/hr

Blooming Urban Design Scapes (BUDS) is a boutique gardening and landscaping company that works with residential and commercial clients across NYC. We are seeking to hire a skilled, flexible, and motivated full time gardener to join our small team for the 2026 season (March-Dec).

The ideal candidate is enthusiastic about gardening, comfortable working on their feet, and excited to join a tight-knit crew. While we are looking to hire an experienced gardener, we are willing to train the right person who is ready to make a commitment to working with BUDS.

Responsibilities/Duties

  • Plant, prune, fertilize and mulch flowers, shrubs, small trees, and bulbs
  • Install and perform seasonal maintenance of gardens on terraces, roof tops, tree pits, and backyards
  • Assist with automated drip irrigation system installation and maintenance
  • Cleaning and maintaining hand gardening tools and other company equipment
  • Effectively communicate with team members, and inform supervisors about any concerns with plant health, pests, or structural problems
  • Uphold company standards, and maintain a respectful demeanor with crew, supervisors, and clients (this is a public facing position)

Qualifications/Requirements

  • 1+ seasons of gardening experience (or demonstrated passion to learn more), ideally in an urban environment
  • Strong knowledge of planting and pruning methods
    Experience working with automated drip irrigation systems is a plus
  • Able to safely lift 50+ pounds repeatedly, and comfortable working in various weather conditions
  • Detail oriented, communicative, and able to receive direction well
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record, and ability to parallel park
  • Punctual, dependable, and able to commute to various locations within NYC
  • Available to work Monday-Friday from early March through December
