A full time-year round Gardener/Groundkeeper/maintenance person for an estate in Greenwich, CT.

Responsibilities/Duties

A beautiful estate in Greenwich Ct is seeking an experienced Gardener, Groundskeeper, maintenance person. The property is 9 acres and has rose gardens, vegetable gardens, apple trees, and landscaped beds. The mowing and lawn care is performed by an outside vendor, the gardener will be responsible for the detail work and care. Experience with roses is a plus, as well as the planting, care, and harvesting from the vegetable garden. It is a small manageable garden that is sized to feed a family of 4. The apple orchard is established and of modest scale just for the consumption by the family and some off property horses. There a wide variety of plants, hedges, and trees to round out the landscaping. So a good overall knowledge of plants and landscaping is essential. Above all the landscaping needs to be maintained in excellent condition to a high standard. There is an element of outside maintenance that is required with this position. Keeping the exterior of the structures clean and free of cobwebs, maintaining the cleanliness of the gate and mailboxes, lanterns and outside lights, runs to the local landfill, pool and patio furniture cleaning, cleaning of the property work truck etc.

this is a full time-year round position. The off season is spent, cleaning and servicing equipment, garage and shed, preparing for spring planting of the vegetable garden. Any advance landscaping projects needed for spring. Outside improvements and off season maintenance projects. As well as assisting the Property Manager with any tasks required in and around the property. 

This is a position for someone that is passionate about landscaping with an eye for detail and who will take pride in their work.

Qualifications/Requirements

Must be legal to work in the United States and have a valid drivers license. Will be required to pass a background check.

Additional Information

2 weeks paid vacation a year, plus paid major holidays.
