Start Date: 3/16/26  Compensation: $25-$40 per hour depending on experience

Green Roof Gardener & Irrigation Technician (LI & Hamptons, PT)

Outside Design Build, a Brooklyn-based green roof and roof garden firm with projects throughout NYC and the Hamptons, is seeking a reliable, Long Island–based technician to maintain and support existing green roof systems. This role combines ecological care with hands-on irrigation service and troubleshooting. Preferred candidates will also have some general construction experience to assist with installation of new green roofs and rooftop gardens.

Responsibilities/Duties

• Perform routine maintenance of green roofs (weeding, reseeding, cleanup, seasonal care).
• Conduct irrigation checks, troubleshoot system issues, and complete minor repairs.
• Support construction and installation projects as needed.
• Communicate clearly with clients and team leads; submit work logs and photo documentation.
• Travel to Hamptons job sites (based in Long Island preferred).
   

Qualifications/Requirements

• Dependable, hard-working, positive attitude.
• Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions.
• 2+ years experience in gardening, landscaping, irrigation, or construction preferred.
• Ability to work independently and follow detailed instructions
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required.
• Growth mindset and willingness to learn.
