Start Date: 3/16/26  Compensation: $25 - $40 per hour (depending on experience)

Green Roof Gardener / Irrigation Technician (part-time)

Outside Design Build, a Brooklyn-based firm maintaining and installing green roofs and rooftop gardens, is seeking a versatile worker(s) to support NYC-based garden and construction projects. This is an excellent supplemental role for someone who enjoys outdoor work, has basic gardening, plumbing or construction skills, but also a family or school commitments. We have 20+ years experience in design & construction and enjoy working with people willing to learn how to perform quality work that will last decades. 

Responsibilities/Duties

• Assist with routine green roof maintenance (weeding, irrigation checks, cleanup).
• Maintain Irrigation systems on rooftops and back yards.
• Support installation crews with tools, materials, and small build tasks.
• Work on a mix of Manhattan and Brooklyn job sites, option to work in the Hamptons.
• Perform light handyman tasks (basic carpentry, plumbing, and repair).

Qualifications/Requirements

• Dependable, punctual, and detail-oriented.
• 2+ years experience in gardening, landscaping, irrigation, or construction preferred, or
• Experience in handyman work, plumbing or light construction.
• Comfortable working outdoors and at heights.
• Ability to follow instructions and complete tasks safely and efficiently.
• Growth mindset and willingness to learn.
