Compensation: $35-$40/hour

A private family is seeking an experienced, detail-oriented groundskeeper to join the team maintaining the exterior of the property and surrounding grounds at their 4-acre estate inWestchester County, NY. The Grounds Attendant will be supervised by the Facilities Manager and will work closely with other residential team members, including the Estate Manager. This is a full-time, live-out position. Current hours are five days a week, Sunday-Thursday, 9am to 6pm. Shifts are subject to change over time and across seasons, as the needs of the family and property change. However, this is a year-round, full-time position. The Grounds Attendant must be flexible to work additional hours and days as required. Salary and benefits are generous and commensurate with experience.

Responsibilities/Duties

  • Meticulous daily cleaning and maintenance of the property exterior, ensuring the grounds, gardens, walkways, and outdoor spaces are in pristine condition with daily property detailing
  • Daily inspections of the grounds to proactively identify issues
  • Seasonal weeding and hand watering as needed between landscaping contractor visits
  • Assist with supervision of outdoor vendors including arborists, lawn care team, landscaping teams, and pool contractor
  • Identify and help to coordinate routine maintenance and repair around the property
  • Work closely with chef and housekeeping team to ensure readiness of outdoor spaces for family dining and outdoor activities on the grounds (swimming, bocce, firepit, and outdoor dining areas)
  • Trash and recycling removal
  • Care and washing of the vehicles
  • Occasional local errands as requested

Qualifications/Requirements

  • A minimum of 2 years of applicable experience is required; 5 years of applicable
    experience strongly preferred
    • Experience working full-time for a private family is strongly preferred
  • Impeccable attention to detail
  • Professional, energetic worker with a positive, team-oriented attitude
  • Ability to multi-task effectively with manager and teammates to reprioritize initiatives
    throughout the day and week
  • Ability to communicate effectively and work well with others
  • Highly proactive and able to spot and resolve issues before they become apparent to the
    family
  • Protective of the family’s interests at all times
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds
  • Excellent, verifiable references from current and past employers
  • Must be authorized to work legally in the U.S.
  • Must have own transportation
  • Must be flexible to travel to out-of-state vacation home and to work evenings as needed
