Start Date: Immediate  Compensation: $40.40/hour

Excellent field experience and thorough working knowledge of horticultural best practices from installation and maintenance of grounds including planting of herbaceous and woody plants, fertilization, pruning, weed removal to irrigation systems and pest control. Strong working design experience and power equipment maintenance and repair preferred. Valid driver’s license and ability to drive a truck critical. Able to safely operate power tools (e.g., mowers, tillers), to carry heavy loads, preparing planting hole, and to work on ladders and scaffolds required. Excellent customer service, communication skills with ability to follow verbal and written instructions essential.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • A certificate or AS diploma from a horticultural institution and/or some college education in horticulture, entomology, landscape design, agronomy or a related field is required.
  • At least three-years of work experience in grounds maintenance essential. 
  • New York State Department of Environmental Conservation Pesticide Technician License Class 3(a), for Ornamentals and Turf and certified ISA or Citizen Pruner from Trees New York preferred.
