Start Date: 3/21/26 Compensation: $87,400 per year
Well-versed and experienced horticulturist with proven design, install and evaluation skills needed to maintain and improve gardens, courtyards, green roofs, tree pits and other green spaces within the University's footprint in the Manhattan and Brooklyn campuses. Attention to detail and outstanding customer service skills are critical since the work involves debris removal, composting and practicing sustainable and efficient practices. The crew is also responsible for working with and training volunteers, students and other interested parties.

Qualifications/Requirements
Verifiable thorough working knowledge of proper horticultural practices related to installation and maintenance of grounds including planting of herbaceous and woody plants, fertilization, pruning, weed removal, IPM and irrigation systems. Outstanding weed identification and removal skills required. Excellent knowledge of best practices in recycling, composting organic waste and pest management essential. Valid driver’s license required and ability to drive a rack truck preferred but will train. Ability to safely operate power tools (e.g., mowers, tillers), to carry heavy loads, to dig a proper hole, and to work on ladders and scaffolds required. Excellent communication both verbal and written needed with ability to follow verbal and written instructions efficiently.
