Cairo, NY | Part-time 

Night on the Sun, a new venture from the founders of Hort and Pott, is seeking a detail-oriented Junior Shopkeeper / Sales Associate to join our team, thrive, and grow with us.  As a key member of our small but mighty operation, you’ll work closely with us and be exposed to many facets of the business—from retail and botanical care to creative projects and customer experience.

We’re looking for someone with excellent communication and organizational skills, a passion for design and horticulture, and a flexible, can-do attitude. If you're someone who takes pride in the details and loves working in a beautiful, hands-on environment, we’d love to hear from you.

Responsibilities/Duties

• Assist with daily operations including store upkeep, light cleaning, and keeping displays tidy and refreshed
• Engage with customers in a warm, helpful, and knowledgeable way—communicating our concept and product stories with care
• Process sales using our POS system and help manage backend tasks like invoicing, order fulfillment, and scheduling
• Assist with inventory tracking and stock management
• Pitch in with studio tasks and adapt fluidly between indoor/outdoor work
• Assist with setup and maintenance of visual merchandising and shop displays
• Support any pre-opening tasks (like tagging products, organizing inventory, etc.) and help with shop events or seasonal shifts
• Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming retail space

Qualifications/Requirements

• Weekend and holiday availability required
• A genuine interest in plants, design, and thoughtful objects
• Friendly and personable, with strong people skills
• Organized, adaptable, and comfortable working both independently and collaboratively
• Physically comfortable being on your feet for extended periods and lifting light to moderate loads
• Experience with basic tech (POS systems, email, spreadsheets)
• Willingness to jump into different roles as needed and learn as you go
• Open to feedback and eager to grow alongside the business
