Compensation: $70,000-$80,000 per year
Southern Land Company, a national real estate development and construction firm is seeking a full-time Horticulture Services Coordinator for our Multifamily Properties to join our dynamic team.
The Horticultural Services Coordinator position includes various duties involving the overall organization and image of the horticultural assets at Southern Land Company. This role requires excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to provide information and service to a wide range of internal and external contacts. With 11 buildings currently operational and more on the horizon, this position will work closely with the Director of Horticulture to collaborate with Third-Party vendors and on-site management at SLC communities to deliver lush and beautiful landscapes.
Responsibilities/Duties
- Handles all communication with SLC Landscape Service Contractors and on-site SLC management regarding landscape maintenance schedules, special projects and seasonal plantings.
- Follows up with contractors and on-site SLC management to confirm tasks were completed to SLC standards.
- Collects and documents all seasonal planting programs including grower info, plant species, sizes and quantities as well as dates of installation and performance.
- Creates, seasonal design color books.
- Collects and documents feedback from all stakeholders on each property, including owners, on-site managers and residents.
- Prepares RFP’s and bid packages for service contracts and special projects.
- Seeks out and does initial screenings of potential new service providers in each market.
- Tracks all landscape costs and works with on-site management as well as SLC accounting to properly code and approve invoices.
- Compiles all the information to help the Director of Horticulture prepare budgets.
- Prepare quarterly horticulture reports for each site.
- Provides a wide range of office administration and support to Director of Horticulture.
- Travel approximately 3-4 times annually.
- Assist Horticulture in sourcing materials and tagging.
- Plays an important role during the construction phase of new buildings to ensure all installations are aligned with the contract scope as well as SLC standards.
Qualifications/Requirements
- Must have exemplary interpersonal skills, positive attitude and ability to work seamlessly with other departments and stakeholders, internal and external. Follow-through on action items is a must.
- Customer service oriented.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite with strong knowledge of Excel.
- Ability to keep sensitive information highly confidential.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, ability to take initiative, use good judgment, demonstrate a strong sense of urgency and attention to detail, and carry multiple projects through to completion.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and independently, prioritize work and ask for further clarification when necessary.
Required Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Passionate about plants/gardening with design and maintenance experience.
- 2+ years of experience in a similar administrative role.
- Deep knowledge and proficiency of Microsoft Office Suite is required.
- Must be punctual, exhibit exceptional people skills and can work as part of a team.
- Strong verbal and written skills required.
Preferred Education and Experience
- Degree in Horticulture or Landscape Design.
- 5+ years working for a high-end landscape contractor.
