Start Date: June 29th  Compensation: $16/hr

Brooklyn Bridge Park is seeking dedicated Horticulture Interns who are passionate about gardening and looking to obtain hands-on experience in the field. Reporting to the Director of Horticulture, the Horticulture Interns will work alongside the Horticulture Staff and assist with the landscape management of the Park. The Horticulture Interns will commit to work two full days a week, for 10 weeks. Interns will acquire skills in native plant identification, invasive species management, woody plant-care, irrigation repairs, as well as perform other duties associated with horticulture, setting them up for good jobs in horticulture or the public realm in general. Interns will also learn about ecology, and the many ways gardening can support butterflies, birds and bees, as well as people.

  • This is a part-time non-exempt position.
  • Horticulture Interns will work two 8 hour days per week for 10 weeks.
  • Typical hours: 7AM-3:30PM
  • Position runs from the end of June through the beginning of September and pays $16/hr

Responsibilities/Duties

The Horticulture Interns will work alongside the Horticulture Staff and assist with the landscape management of the Park. The Horticulture Interns will commit to work two full days a week, for 10 weeks.
