Start Date: June 9, 2026 Compensation: $18/hour
Clark Botanic Garden offers an eight-week summer internship designed for students interested in horticulture, environmental studies, and related fields. Interns will gain hands-on experience in garden maintenance, plant care, and research projects while working in a beautiful outdoor setting. This program provides an opportunity to learn practical skills, interact with industry professionals, and contribute to the preservation and enhancement of a public garden.
Responsibilities/Duties
- Assist with planting, weeding, mulching, watering, and general garden maintenance.
- Maintain flower beds and seasonal displays.
- Participate in educational activities related to plant identification, soil health, and sustainable gardening practices.
- Handle and maintain garden tools and equipment.
- Attend field trips organized by LINLA.
Qualifications/Requirements
- Physical Ability: able to lift and carry up to 25 pounds safely.
- Outdoor Work: comfortable working in summer weather conditions (heat, humidity).
- Reliability: punctual, dependable, and committed to the full internship schedule.
- Work Ethic: responsible and able to follow instructions.
- Teamwork: willing to work collaboratively in a garden setting.
- Interest in Nature: enthusiasm for plants, gardening, and environmental stewardship is strongly preferred.
