Start Date: Immediately  Compensation: $20 - $34 ph

A Design-Build Landscape firm specializing in urban outdoor environments is searching for an ambitious Horticultural Team Crew Member. Developing small spaces with an eye on style, practical details, and timelessness, our projects range from rooftop terraces, Brownstone backyards, boutique hotels and custom furnishings. Our focus is to provide excellent quality construction installations and products. Our office occupies a full-service fabrication studio in Brooklyn. 

The candidate joins a tight knit team dedicated to rapid project turn over, excellent standards of customer service and all facets of professional construction and horticulture installations



 

Responsibilities/Duties

  • Possesses basic + planting knowledge, planting technique, and other horticulture-related skill sets
  • Possesses the ability to identify symptoms of distress
  • Low voltage and irrigation experience a plus
  • Day to day implementation of tasks as assigned by Director of Horticulture and Director of Operations as necessary to support daily team activities both in-house and in the field
  • Material handling, organization and site transport
  • Possesses basic familiarity/experience with carpentry framing (decks and fences). finish carpentry, masonry and patio installation
  • Maintain clean job sites, shop premises and vehicles 
  • Maintain professional behavior at all times

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Assist teams with physically demanding work. Candidates must be able to lift 100lb comfortably. The candidate can expect to be physically active on a daily basis
  • Candidate must have an excellent driving record and be comfortable with driving large commercial vans in New York City
  • Candidate has to Punctual
  • Must have the ability to work in all types of weather
  • NYS Valid Drivers License a must 
  • Low voltage and irrigation experience a plus
