Jungle is a New York City-based plant design, installation, and care studio. We create thoughtful, modern green spaces for offices, residences, and events, pairing strong horticultural knowledge with a clear design point of view. The Indoor Plant Installation Lead is responsible for leading on-site interior plant installations from start to finish for key projects. This is a field-forward role for someone who enjoys working with plants, people, and logistics, and who brings a calm, solutions-oriented approach to busy install days.
This role is best suited for an experienced installation lead who is comfortable stepping into projects for defined install periods, taking ownership on site, and working independently.
This is a contract, project-based role. Work is scheduled around installation periods and may be intermittent. There are no guaranteed hours. Flexible scheduling when the projects allow.
Responsibilities/Duties
- Lead indoor plant installations for select commercial and residential projects
- Translate design plans into clear, well-executed layouts on site
- Organize materials, tools, and workflow for smooth install days
- Coordinate with clients and internal team members in a clear, professional way
- Oversee plant and planter placement, soil work, and final styling
- Keep installs running safely, efficiently, and on schedule
- Pitch in hands-on alongside the crew when needed
- Support and guide junior installers with best practices and care standards
- Spot challenges early and adapt thoughtfully as conditions change
Qualifications/Requirements
- 2+ years experience leading indoor plant or landscape installations on site
- Demonstrated ability to independently run installations during concentrated work periods
- Comfortable working on a project-based, non-full-time schedule
- Strong knowledge of common interior plants and their light, soil, and water needs
- Comfortable making layout decisions on site and adjusting as needed
- Experience working with basic install equipment and with service elevators and building management staff
- Organized, reliable, and confident managing time-sensitive work
- Clear, respectful communicator with clients and teammates
- Good design instincts and attention to detail
- Comfortable lifting up to 40 lbs
- Ability to share project references or a portfolio of installations you’ve led
Ability to drive is a plus, but not required.
