 Compensation: $30-$35/hour

Town and Gardens, Ltd. is seeking a high-performing Installations Crew Leader to transform New York City’s urban spaces. In this role, you are more than a builder—you are a logistics expert, a technical mentor, and a steward of quality. You will lead a dedicated crew installing premium gardens, ranging from complex rooftop planters to sophisticated lighting and irrigation systems. 

Responsibilities/Duties

Your Impact:

  • Drive Field Operations: Take full ownership of day-to-day project execution. You set the pace, ensure safety, and maintain the "Town and Gardens" standard of excellence on every site.
  • Execute Technical Builds: Lead the installation of planters, engineered soil systems, and high-end plant material. You’ll also build, program, and test drip irrigation manifolds and low-voltage lighting systems with precision.
  • Master NYC Logistics: Navigate the unique challenges of the city, including coordinating freight elevators, protection plans, hoisting/rigging, and debris management in tight urban environments.
  • Mentor and Teach: Act as a primary instructor for your crew. You will actively convey technical skills—from proper planting techniques to hardscaping best practices—helping your team develop their judgment and craft.
  • Manage Resources & Data: Oversee tool and vehicle readiness, and maintain meticulous site notes, photos, and "as-built" documentation using our software/app suite.
  • Serve as an Ambassador: Represent the firm to clients and building staff, ensuring a professional, clean, and organized job site at all times.

Qualifications/Requirements

What You Bring:

  • Proven Expertise: 3+ years of experience leading installations in landscape construction or related trades with strong hands-on skills.
  • Technical Literacy: Ability to read layout plans, interpret construction details, and perform basic site math.
  • Specialized Skills: Proficiency in drip irrigation, low-voltage lighting, and pedestal/paver systems (rooftop/terrace experience is a major plus).
  • Credentials: A valid NYS driver’s license (box truck experience required) and OSHA 10 certification (OSHA 30 preferred).
  • Leadership Traits: An organized, calm-under-pressure mindset with a passion for creating beautiful spaces in amazing places.
