Start Date: Immediate  Compensation: $20-25 / hour + benefits

New York Green Roofs is an urban landscape firm specializing in green infrastructure and on-structure landscaping.  Working in the commercial, high-end residential and institutional markets, we build and maintain some of the world's most iconic rooftop landscapes… and we love what we do.  We are currently looking for professional construction trades persons looking to join our team and build a career in green infrastructure.

Our projects are located primarily in the 5 boroughs and we occasionally out of town.  Our office and shop are located in East Williamsburg, Brooklyn. This is a full time, seasonal position with benefits that get better every year you work with us.

Responsibilities/Duties

The Ideal Candidate Will:

  • Have a strong work ethic and be a team player
  • Take pride in what they do and how they work
  • Be on time and professional
  • Be comfortable working safely on rooftops
  • Be ready to take part in our weekly, monthly and annual safety & training programs
  • Perform heavy manual labor and work in inclement conditions
  • Occasionally work longer than 8 hours in a given day
  • Occasionally be willing to work more than 5 days in a given week

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year of Construction and / or Landscape trade experience
  • Minimum 30 Hour OSHA Certificate
  • Interest in plants and green infrastructure

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Horticulture/Landscape experience
  • Green Roof experience
  • NYC SST 40 hour certification
  • Carpentry, Masonry, Plumbing or similar experience
  • Clean driving record and the ability to drive a truck in NYC
