 Compensation: $20-$25/hr

Join our installations team building best-in-class urban gardens across NYC. As an Installation Crew Member, you will work directly under the guidance of an Installation Crew Leader to transform rooftops, terraces, and urban spaces into lush landscapes. This is a hands-on role where you’ll learn the specialized skills of high-end landscape construction, including irrigation, lighting, and masonry, while working safely and efficiently at some of the city's most unique properties. 

Responsibilities/Duties

Your Impact:

  • Assembly & Installation: Assist with the layout and assembly of custom planters, liners, drainage fabrics, and the placement of engineered soil mixes.
  • Systems Support: Pull wire and place fixtures for low-voltage landscape lighting; support the installation and testing of drip irrigation systems.
  • Hardscape & Prep: Set pavers on pedestal systems, level surfaces, and help with the hauling of construction materials and debris.
  • Site Logistics: Handle high-end materials (plants, planters, soil) with care. Use dollies, carts, and protective coverings to move materials cleanly through luxury buildings.
  • Maintenance & Safety: Keep tools and work areas organized; strictly follow all safety protocols and Crew Leader instructions.

Qualifications/Requirements

What You Bring:

  • Experience: 0–2 years in landscape construction or related trades (carpentry, irrigation, electrical, masonry). We are willing to train candidates with the right attitude.
  • Technical Aptitude: Comfort using hand/power tools and the ability to read a tape measure accurately to 1/16".
  • Physical Readiness: Ability to lift and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds regularly and work outdoors on rooftops/terraces in all weather conditions.
  • Professionalism: Reliability, teamwork, and a positive attitude. You should have a passion for creating beautiful spaces and a hunger to learn.
  • Mobility and Certs: Ability to travel via public transit; a valid driver’s license is strongly preferred. OSHA 10/30 certification is a plus.
