 Compensation: $30-$40+/hr

Leads a small, high‑performing crew installing premium urban gardens across NYC — planting, planters, engineered soils, drip irrigation, low‑voltage lighting, and occasional hardscaping (pavers/pedestal systems). You’ll review plans, stage materials, coordinate logistics, and deliver immaculate, safe installations in tight urban environments.

Responsibilities/Duties

  • Run day‑to‑day field operations for installation projects; set pace, quality, and safety.
  • Layout and install planters, geo-textiles soil mixes, and plant material per spec and best practices.
  • Build, program and test drip irrigation systems (manifolds, valves, controllers); perform basic troubleshooting.
  • Install low‑voltage landscape lighting (fixtures, wiring, transformers and timers) per plan and best practices.
  • Execute occasional hardscaping: paver/pedestal systems, edge restraints, and leveling.
  • Manage NYC‑specific logistics: freight elevators, protection plans, hoisting/rigging coordination, debris management, site access and cleanliness.
  • Maintain accurate daily site notes, photos, and as‑built notes within our software/app suite; oversee tool/vehicle readiness.
  • Mentor and train crew members on best practices, techniques, tools and safety

Qualifications/Requirements

  • 3+ years leading installations in landscape construction or closely related trades; strong hands‑on skills.
  • Competence reading layout plans, interpreting details and basic math
  • Experience with drip irrigation and low‑voltage lighting; troubleshooting skills.
  • Familiarity with pedestal/paver systems and rooftop/terrace work.
  • Valid NYS driver’s license; comfortable driving box trucks in NYC; OSHA‑10 (OSHA‑30 a plus).
  • Organized, calm under pressure, and committed to quality and client experience.
  • A passion for creating beautiful spaces in amazing places
