Start Date: March 2023 Compensation: $15/hour plus on-site housing
Wild Gardens Nursery promotes ecological gardening in Westchester County by growing and selling native perennial plants and designing landscapes for environmentally minded home gardeners. We are a small business entering our fourth year of operations. The intern who joins the team will have a range of responsibilities and learning experiences, including raising perennials from seed to sale, growing young trees, educating customers, and designing, installing and tending demonstration gardens. About the internship
The duration of the internship is March-October and the hours will be at least 20 hours/week with an additional 5 negotiable. The intern will need a vehicle as the nursery is located out of town. On-site lodging is a private room in a house shared with four very friendly housemates. Wild Gardens Nursery is located on Dragonfly Farm, a beautiful 6-acre piece of agricultural land in the middle of an area that is mostly suburban.

Qualifications/Requirements
Preference will be given to applicants enrolled in, or recently graduated from a degree program in environmental science, botany, horticulture or a related field. Interest in gardening, ability to do hard physical labor, a commitment to environmental responsibility , and a can-do attitude are other important qualifications.
