offer five training opportunities preparing New Yorkers for diverse careers as well as sector-based training in food industry
and in green construction and maintenance. Our student-centered approach, employer-driven training, wide range of support
services, and commitment to lifelong support yield strong results, notably a job placement rate of 75% and retention rates of
90% at 90 days and 75% at one-year.
Program Description:
Intervine is a social enterprise that includes a paid transitional training program that prepares participants for careers in
horticulture, green infrastructure, and solar panel installation. By providing paid work alongside job search support and career
building training, the program allows people to gain experience and earn income while seeking a permanent job. The program
includes hands on training, soft skills development, and industry recognized certifications.
The Position:
The HOPE Program will be hiring a Crew Leader who will guide the day-to-day activities of Intervine employees, providing
oversight and supervision for crews at our training facilities and in the field. The Crew Leader will report to the Chief Venture
Officer, and will have responsibility for gathering and summarizing attendance and performance data for Intervine participants
as well as providing program staff with feedback regarding participants that need additional engagement.

  • Supervise Intervine employees during off-site on the job training activities
  • Coordinate with clients, and external partners, ensure all documentation is in order including insurance certificates
  • On-board and hire program participants, process employment documentation
  • Track and process payroll
  • Assist in delivery of program curriculum, aligning lessons with other components of training, and assisting with
  • Develop and deliver hands on training with small power tools and hand tools
  • Operate van to deliver tools and materials to work sites
  • Other duties as assigned

Responsibilities/Duties

Qualifications/Requirements

  • 3+ years hands on construction, solar, outdoor education or horticultural experience
  • Ability to demonstrate and monitor safe and professional use of hand and small power tools
  • Strong computer and administrative capacity
  • Excellent presentation and facilitation skills
  • Commitment to sustainable building practices
  • Valid driver’s license
