Compensation: $65,000 - $75,000 BOE

Trillium Landscape Design is an established boutique rooftop garden and design/build firm based in New York City. We are currently seeking an experienced horticultural professional to be our hands on Landscape Operation and Procurement Manager in order to help with day to day communications, landscape quality control and the scheduling and procurement of all landscape materials. The candidate should not only possess a strong horticultural/landscape background, but should also have a strong sense of design, an eye for detail and passion for urban garden maintenance and installation. The candidate must be hardworking, genuine, personable, professional, creative, organized and a great communicator.

Responsibilities/Duties

  • Maintain and create a schedule of all day to day activities indicating installations, plant health care visits/maintenance, irrigation, deliveries, vendor and subcontractor visits
  • Adjust schedule daily, as new information is received 
  • Maintain clear and concise communication with Trillium team, clients, client’s staff, vendors and subcontractors  
  • Act as a liaison between office and field to relay any changes in activities/policies and to relay any pertinent information
  • Visual checks of all properties for quality control and report directly to President through weekly reports 
  • Hands on Horticultural work along side crew on a weekly basis (Days determined by season and workload)
  • Oversee plant inventory, storage organization and tool management with crew leaders 
  • Manage client complaints/issues and report to office 
  • Maintain and facilitate strong relationships to ensure client’s trust and satisfaction
  • Work with Director of Design and Project Manager on any proposal needs (scheduling, measurements, photos etc.)
  • Participate in staff meetings and communicate with Office Manager and Director of Design to coordinate operational activities
  • Help with the training and orientation of new staff
  • Help create dossier’s for each client in order to continue to provide personalized client care, home saftey and building of database
  • Oversee vehicle repairs, safety and cleanliness with crew leaders 
  • Provide new and innovative ideas on how to improve communications and workflow with Trillium team
  • Provide opportunities for Trillium team to openly deliver feedback 
  • Keep daily logs in Google Sheet and complete weekly work hours by the following Monday morning
  • Record and keep track of all budgeted hours and additional work outside of contracts

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Degree/Diploma in Horticulture or similar preferred
  • 5-7 years of professional experience in urban gardening and landscape Installation in NYC
  • Well-developed skill set in horticulture, plant identification, plant health care, planting, transplanting, pruning, maintaining plants and IPM
  • Proficient in Word, Proficient in MS Office, MS Word and Excel  
  • Ability to work in all types of weather
  • Clean Driving Record  
  • Must be able to carry 50 lb
