Plan it Wild is a sustainable landscape company that transforms private yards and commercial landscapes into beautiful native habitats that increase biodiversity, carbon capture, and absorb stormwater. Our brand of ecological landscaping is a simplified approach to restoring native plants and habitats on your land. We want each customer to get a personal experience from us and to know the value of rewilding their land. We provide a tailored EcoReport for each client that includes our full proposal, with a set of design recommendations as well as information on the ecological value of native landscaping.
Plan it Wild is searching for a native gardener, horticulturist, landscape architect, or other related field, to develop restoration plant palettes and EcoReports and recommendations for clients in Westchester County, NY and Fairfield County, CT
Responsibilities/Duties
- Zoom calls with clients and prospects to understand their needs and help assess if a field visit is warranted
- Field visits to clients across Westchester and Fairfield Counties
- Diagnosing client yard space that leads to a set of design recommendations that will thrive in that site
- Putting together EcoReports - custom recommendations for clients inclusive of native plant lists, quantities, and areas
- Creating sketches of yard space and planting installations (alternatively using existing software or tools to create designs that guide install projects and teams)
- Updating ecological information
- Sending out EcoReports and organizing all relevant information
- Corresponding with those clients and install crew as needed to hold their hand through the install process
Qualifications/Requirements
- Horticultural, botanical, design, and/or ecological knowledge and experience, with familiarity of northeastern Eco region 59C native plants and natural habitats
- Creative with a great sense of design and aesthetics
- Can work from home except once weekly in-person meetings
- Must have own car to drive to site visits (in Westchester, Putnam, and Fairfield Counties)
- Excellent presentation skills and able to communicate well with clients
PREFERRED:
- Degree in landscape design, landscape architecture, horticulture, gardening, residential ecology, fine arts or related is a plus but not required
- Proficiency with Canva, CAD, Adobe products (or ability to learn new software tooling quickly)
