Compensation: $65,000 - $80,000/year

We design, install, and maintain stunning interior plantscapes and provide exquisite floral arrangements for a diverse clientele across New York City. Our mission is to create vibrant, healthy environments that elevate the spaces where people live and work.

We’re seeking an organized, detail-oriented professional to oversee and optimize the daily operations of our plant care division and provide cross-departmental operational support company-wide. This position ensures exceptional client service, efficient systems, and seamless coordination between our plant care, design, and operations teams.

You’ll lead our team of horticultural technicians, coordinate schedules and logistics, and ensure that every client site receives the highest standard of maintenance and attention. You’ll work closely with our Director of Operations to support broader company initiatives, assisting with general scheduling, client relations, submission fielding, invoicing, and contract management. This role requires strong leadership, horticultural knowledge, and an ability to balance both strategic planning and hands-on oversight.

Responsibilities/Duties

Plant Care Management

  • Oversee day-to-day plant care operations, including team scheduling, route optimization, and quality control across all client sites.
  • Lead and mentor horticultural technicians to maintain exceptional service and plant health standards.
  • Conduct site visits to assess plant conditions, troubleshoot issues, and implement maintenance plans or replacements as needed.
  • Maintain plant and supply inventories; coordinate with vendors for timely procurement and delivery.
  • Step in to cover plant care routes when necessary to ensure uninterrupted client service.
  • Serve as a point of contact for clients regarding scheduling, maintenance, and operational questions.
  • Support cross-department communication to align production timelines with plant care schedules.

Operational & Administrative Support

  • Directly assist the Director of Operations with administrative and operational responsibilities, including scheduling, invoicing, contract tracking, and client communication.
  • Coordinate logistics for design and production projects, ensuring smooth collaboration between departments.
  • Manage documentation, budget tracking, and vendor coordination for active projects.
  • Support process improvements and implementation of systems that streamline operations and improve profitability.
  • Act as a liaison between the operations and design teams to ensure consistent project delivery and client satisfaction.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Experience: Proven background in horticultural management, operations, or project coordination, with team leadership experience.
  • Organization & Project Management: Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Communication Skills: Strong interpersonal abilities for managing both staff and client relationships.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Google Workspace or Microsoft Office; familiarity with project management tools preferred.
  • Horticultural Knowledge: Ability to assess plant health, diagnose issues, and recommend care strategies.
  • Physical Requirements: Able to stand for long periods, lift up to 35 lbs, and work in varied indoor environments.
  • Schedule Flexibility: Occasional early mornings, weekends, or late shifts as needed (overtime pay provided).
  • Driving Ability (Plus): Comfortable driving a small van or delivery vehicle in NYC is always helpful!
