Start Date: 5/31/22  Compensation: $60,000-$65,000

Little Island seeks a Park Operations Associate to join the team. Reporting to the Park Operations Manager, this position will support all aspects of the Park Operations department, which is responsible for park maintenance, custodial services, safety, access control, logistics, storage, and many capital facilities projects. A successful Park Operations Associate will be a strong systems-thinker who is committed to ensuring organization-wide systems related to the park are operating excellently and is excited to contribute to an evolving outdoor environment.

Responsibilities/Duties

  • Create, implement and maintain systems and processes for the Park Operations Team to improve efficiency and operational excellence. Identify and make updates to systems and processes in response to changing demands and priorities. Systems include work and training schedules, storage planning, and ordering and restocking processes.
  • Identify and execute special projects in partnership with the Maintenance Supervisor and Park Operations Manager. Develop project scopes and budgets, gather input, and communicate project impact and timeline with key stakeholders. Projects may include capital repairs, equipment selection, researching best practices or guidelines to inform policies, and design/build of custom park fixtures.
  • Manage vendor relationships, including selecting vendors, developing project scopes, negotiating costs and terms, negotiating and managing contracts, and overseeing contracted work.
  • Provide comprehensive administrative support to the Park Operations and Horticulture departments, including ordering, reconciling credit card statements, processing invoices, scheduling meetings, planning trainings and outings, taking notes, and producing presentations and reports.
  • Provide direct administrative support for the Park Operations Manager, Head of Horticulture, and Maintenance Supervisor.
  • Other duties and tasks related to the park and its operations as assigned

Qualifications/Requirements

  • 3-5 years’ experience in an operations or administrative role
  • Passion for learning new things and tackling challenging problems head-on. You thrive in a dynamic, ever-changing environment.
  • You can distill complex concepts and information to ensure information is simple and easy to understand for diverse stakeholders.
  • Enthusiastic about efficiency, organization, and detail
  • A fast learner who is comfortable with computer-based systems: familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, InDesign, scheduling software, or using a computerized work order system a plus
  • Experience managing complex and long-term projects.
  • Proven track record for creating and maintaining systems and processes that are scalable, dynamic, and efficient.
  • Availability to work evenings, holidays, and weekends as needed
  • Ability to speak Spanish a plus
  • Ability to work in US
