Compensation: $80,000-$85,000

The day-to-day operations of Little Island’s park and park staff are in the hands of the Park Operations Manager. Reporting to the Director of Operations, the Park Operations Manager oversees all park-based employees to ensure the park is well maintained and that visitors reap the full benefit of Little Island’s unique environment. This role will uphold Little Island’s high quality standards of safety, accessibility, and hospitality for all park visitors and employees. They implement these standards while onsite and empower park supervisors to do the same when not onsite. A successful candidate has a strong understanding of parks or public spaces, both operationally and experientially, and is excited to contribute to a new and evolving outdoor environment. They are passionate about people and skilled in supporting a dynamic and diverse field staff comprised of park Supervisors, Custodians, Hosts, and security personnel. - Salary Range: $80,000-$85,000
- Job Type: Full-time, year-round
- Schedule Expectations: Will work a flexible schedule to ensure they are working in the park at all times of operations. Weekend and evening work is expected.

Responsibilities/Duties
Safety and Park Care
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of a unique 2.4 acre public park; Work in the field to actively supervise staff and ensure a safe, and welcoming environment for visitors.
- Maintain a visible presence on site and act as primary point person for all visitor-related matters
- Liaise with Little Island’s 3rd party security vendor, partnering with the security Site Supervisor on security guard training, scheduling, and other in-park matters
- Partner with the Manager of Park Administration on the development, execution and ongoing maintenance of security systems and safety protocols. Ensure all staff are trained in such systems and protocols
- Collaborate with the Maintenance Supervisor, Head of Horticulture and other department supervisors on snow removal and weather-related park closures
- Track visitation/usership. Support the collection and analysis of visitation data as needed.
Leadership and Supervisory Responsibilities
- Hire, train and supervise an active and informed park team of Supervisors, Custodians and Hosts at Little Island
- Ensure that all park Supervisors are well-trained and can uphold the high quality standards of the park and park safety
- Consult with the Manager of Park Administration and Director of Operations in the building of the park staffing plan
- Collaborate with other park managers to build and maintain an operating plan that works in service to the standard of excellence set by the Operations department
- Spearhead the development and implementation of ongoing training, assessment, and professional development for park staff
Operational Systems
- Ensure protocols around reporting are being implemented
- Collaborate with the programming, horticulture, maintenance, and food and beverage departments to ensure the successful coordination and delivery of all activity onsite
- Partner with the Manager of Park Administration and Production Manager to ensure seamless operational support for programming and events onsite
- Collaborate with the Operations department in the creation of the departmental budget
- Build, activate and sustain appropriate systems to manage crowds with an eye on maintaining positive visitor experience
- Other duties and tasks related to the park and its operations as assigned
Qualifications/Requirements
- 5+ years’ experience leading and training a dynamic team of field-based employees. Experience in public, outdoor, and/or artistic spaces preferred
- A hardworking and energetic spirit with a dedication to the details
- Demonstrated experience in holding a high-quality standard of care and implementing systems that work in service to this standard
- Great judgment and an intentional approach to decision-making and conflict resolution
- Availability to work flexible hours, holidays, evenings and weekends.
- Ability to transport, move, and utilize park equipment weighing up to 30 lbs. with proper tools for safety, as well as move materials and equipment into various positions within the park
- Comfort conversing in multiple languages a plus
- Ability to work in US
