Part-Time Gardener
(Paid Opportunities) Return to Paid Opportunities
Compensation: $30-$40/hr
Urban Rewild is a nature forward design build landscaping company seeking an experienced part-time gardener with a deep understanding of plants—especially native species of the Northeast. The ideal candidate is experienced in and passionate about all aspects of urban gardening, including edible gardens, indoor, native/wildflower, annuals, and some more traditional garden styles.
This role is best suited for someone who is self-motivated and comfortable making thoughtful decisions about plant care while exercising a degree of design intuition in the garden. While the position is primarily maintenance focused, there will be opportunities to assist with installations, and you will also receive training in basic irrigation system maintenance and troubleshooting.
Urban Rewild is a young and growing company, which means there are always opportunities for additional responsibility, creative input, and increased hours for those who show initiative, curiosity, leadership, and a strong work ethic.
I have over a decade of experience in all aspects of urban landscaping and genuinely enjoy teaching, especially when it helps you grow in the areas you’re most interested in or would like to develop. My planting/design style emphasizes a diversity of vegetation, primarily native, and I try to incorporate varying textures, lots and lots of blooms, and year-round interest. I don’t particularly enjoy planting boxwoods, but if a client twists my arm hard enough, I’ll make the exception.
