 Compensation: $25 - $30 / hour (based on experience)

Do you have a passion for plants and an eye for design? We're a growing local business specializing in plant and floral design for offices and homes, and we're looking for a dedicated Plant Care & Floral Associate to join our team.

In this dynamic role, you'll be the expert ensuring our clients' plants thrive and their spaces are brightened with beautiful floral arrangements. If you're a self-starter who loves getting your hands dirty and has a knack for design, we'd love to hear from you!

Responsibilities/Duties

  • On-Site Plant Care: Maintain a variety of indoor (and sometimes outdoor) plants at commercial and residential locations across NYC (Manhattan, Brooklyn, etc.). This includes watering, pruning, pest management, repotting, and ensuring optimal plant health. You'll regularly travel between 10+ sites daily.
  • Floral Design & Delivery: Create and deliver stunning floral arrangements to offices weekly, including sourcing flowers from the NYC floral district within budget and style guidelines. You'll also arrange and place florals directly at client locations.
  • Plant Installations: Prepare plants, green walls, and other greenery for client installations and assist with on-site setup and delivery.
  • Studio Operations: Manage workflow at our Red Hook, Brooklyn studio, including receiving deliveries of plants, pots, and materials.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Plant Expertise: Solid knowledge of indoor plant care requirements and practical experience with repotting and maintaining a wide variety of plants. Outdoor plant experience is a plus!
  • Reliable & Independent: You'll often manage sites and installations solo, so strong time management, communication skills, and punctuality are key. You'll need to be responsive via work chat and email during work hours.
  • Physically Capable: Ability to be on your feet for extended periods and lift up to 35 lbs.
  • Flexible Availability: You'll work a full-time schedule, but some early morning, weekend, or late-night shifts may be required (typically 1-2 days per week will have adjusted hours, e.g., 7 AM - 3 PM). You will be “on-call” to cover weekend deliveries ~once per month and will receive overtime pay for any work over 40 hours per week for weekend or late night shifts.
  • Design Interest: An eye for interior plant design and a desire to grow in this area is a strong bonus.
  • NYC Driving (Plus): Comfortable driving a delivery van or small/medium truck in the NYC area is a huge plus.
