Pay Rate: $23.50/hour (New Hire)
Duration: March 13 – November 18, 2023

The Seasonal Media Assistant will report to the Communications Manager and work closely with the Programming department. The Seasonal Media Assistant will ensure coverage of programming events, Icahn Stadium events such as track and field gatherings, graduations, as well as sporting, recreational and environmental usage in the park. The Seasonal Media Assistant will be required to work on-site, outdoors and on weekends and evenings. 
 

Responsibilities/Duties

  • Creatively capture and promote the park, including programming events, passive park usage, environmental interactions, etc., through photography and videos
  • Live stream and take pictures at Icahn Stadium events
  • Create, write, and post content on social media outlets, with approval from the Communications Manager
  • Collaborate with the year-round Social Media & Communications Coordinator on tasks and projects
  • Interact with park patrons and provide general park information with a welcoming and friendly demeanor
  • Assist with basic administrative tasks such as completing simple reports, data entry, etc.
  • Other general tasks as assigned

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Strong working professional knowledge of social media platforms
  • Experience taking good quality pictures and live streaming videos, with a keen eye
  • Ability to write professionally and clearly
  • Ability to engage with colleagues and the public, bringing a proactive energy to events and programs
  • Ability to collaborate and create positive working relationships
  • Good planning, organizational and time management skills as well as strong attention to detail
  • Motivated and punctual, able to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Willing to work in all types of weather
  • Ability to work nights, weekends, and overtime, when needed
  • Proof of COVID-19 Vaccination

    PREFERRED SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience with editing photos and videos
  • Experience capturing sporting events via film/video
  • Coursework in Communications, Media, Marketing etc.
  • Experience working in a park/outdoors
  • Experience in the track and field industry
  • Fluent in Spanish
  • Valid Driver License
