Start Date: 10/20/2025 Compensation: $100,000 - $125,000 per year
Dynamic landscape architecture firm in Brooklyn and the Hudson Valley with a diverse portfolio and a commitment to sustainable practices is seeking a Senior Construction Manager to contribute to our diverse staff of designers, fabricators, and gardeners. We design, fabricate, and install award-winning landscapes for institutions, new construction, and high-end residential projects. This job includes overseeing on-site installations and shop fabrication projects. Our goal is to achieve a high level of craft in a safe, productive, and equitable work environment.
This job is based on-site in Brooklyn, NY.
Responsibilities/Duties
- Represent Future Green at client meetings and communicate our services, portfolio, and vision
- Oversee all firm projects through planning, scheduling and monitoring critical milestones to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget
- Manage large projects with complex scopes or multiple projects at the same time
- Manage multiple staff teams on related projects and provide mentorship where appropriate
- Provide technical oversight on projects ‐ ensuring that codes, standards, & project requirements are met
- Obtain the appropriate permits and licenses from authorities for construction sites
- Ensure that working methods are efficient and adhered to by staff
- Ensure safety protocols are implemented and adhered to
- Organize weekly staff meetings to discuss upcoming schedule and work flow
- Attend pre-bid meetings and field walkthroughs
- Oversee material orders and logistics of materials to site
- Responsible for communicating progress and scheduling changes to client
- Produce or oversee production of rough order of magnitude estimates for design projects
- Produce or oversee production of shop drawing plans, sections and details
- Review project specifications and analyze opportunities for value engineering and comparable product substitutions
- Manage project close-outs - conduct final site visits and develop internal punch lists, as needed
- Contribute to business development including reviewing potential jobs and attending firm interviews
- Participate in hiring process - including reviewing applications and helping to conduct interviews
Qualifications/Requirements
- Ten or more years of construction management experience, preferably in NYC landscape field
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Detail‐oriented with strong organizational skills
- Skilled at multitasking and working toward multiple deadlines
- Experience managing public, private residential and commercial bids
- Knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in sophisticated landscape construction
- Experience overseeing woodworking, metal, and garden installation teams
- Proficiency in MS Office, experience with Autocad a plus
