 Compensation: $35-40/hr

Town and Gardens, Ltd. is looking for a proactive, detail-oriented Senior Crew Leader to join our team. This role is designed for a true leader with multiple years of experience under their belt—someone who takes a high degree of responsibility for their crew’s success, the company’s reputation, as well as the health of the urban landscapes we maintain. You won't just manage a route; you will mentor a team and serve as the face of Town and Gardens in the field. Senior Crew Leaders are expected to earn and maintain the trust of Account Managers, Operations Staff, and clients through consistent performance at a high level.  

Responsibilities/Duties

Your Impact:

  • Lead by Example: Direct and inspire your crew to maintain the highest standards of efficiency and quality at every site.
  • Mentor and Teach: Act as a primary instructor for your team, actively conveying horticultural skills and professional judgment to help crew members grow.
  • Champion the Brand: Represent the company professionally to the public and clients, serving as a direct ambassador for our values and services.
  • Solve Problems: Troubleshoot on-site challenges independently, using your expertise to ensure timely and effective resolutions, while also knowing when to seek support.
  • Manage Resources: Organize workgroup activities, budget time accurately, and take full ownership of the inventory, tools, and materials assigned to your vehicle and team.
  • Collaborate: Partner with Account Managers to plan and execute complex projects, ensuring all work is documented via mobile apps (Aspire, Outlook, Google Drive).
  • Foster Culture: Cultivate a positive attitude and safe work environment, providing guidance to maintain company standards.

Qualifications/Requirements

What You Bring:

  • Expertise: A degree in Horticulture or equivalent field experience, plus a deep knowledge of ornamental plants.
  • Proven Leadership: 3+ years of proven Crew Leader/Foreman experience leading landscape maintenance or installation teams.
  • Logistical Skill: A valid NYS driver’s license with a clean record and the confidence to navigate box trucks through NYC streets.
  • Physical Ability: The ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with pesticides (Apprentice, Technician, or Applicator level preferred).
  • Organization: Strong time-management skills and the ability to keep precise time and material records.
