Start Date: 11/01/2022 Compensation: $65,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
Performing a variety of tasks year-round in association with keeping estate grounds in a safe, clean and aesthetically pleasing condition. Working closely with Estate Manager in estate maintenance, managing groundkeepers, overseeing grounds, repairing a variety of electrical/mechanical equipment and performing minor carpentry when needed.6
Responsibilities/Duties
Have working knowledge of all aspects of Private Estate Ground Management: training and overseeing other groundskeepers, preparing spreadsheets, budget analysis, inventory track, weekly reports and follow up of projects until completion
- Year-round maintenance of landscaping and estate grounds
- Organic, non-toxic care of lawns, shrubbery, flowerbeds, and additional grounds, including seeding and mowing lawn, watering trees and shrubs, mulching, weeding, tree pruning, general exterior cleaning, ice and snow removal and other operations relating to safe exterior access to the facility and/or related areas
- Maintaining multi-zone, multi-estate smart irrigation systems, including start-up, repairs & winterizing of the systems
- Maintains or repairs tools, equipment or structures such as buildings, greenhouses, fences or dock using hand or power tools, securely and safely
- Vendor management, overseeing outside technicians work until completion
- Maintain inventory of all supplies and equipments for year around Estate Ground maintenance

Qualifications/Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Valid Driver's License required
- Must pass background and security check
- Must be able to legally work in the United States
- Minimum of three to five (3-5) years proven groundskeeper/landscaper or private Estate Management experience
- Read, write and speak English to clearly understand and interpret written and verbal instructions.
- Able to manage multiple tasks at multiple properties including maintaining contractor & staff calendar
- Knowledge in smart home technologies such as Crestron, Apple, Alexa, Google is a plus
- Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged periods of time
- Must be able to lift up to 50lbs to move heavy materials and operate equipment such as mowers, pruning saws, electric clippers, chain saws, mulcher/chipper, tractors and snow blowers
- Must have Basic knowledge in carpentry, painting, plumbing, HVAC and electrical system
- Background in organic, non-toxic horticulture, gardening, landscaping highly desirable
- Knowledge in irrigation system repairs is desirable
- Knowledge in OMRI approved products and application process is a plus
- Knowledge of snow melting system is a plus
- Strong knowledge in PC/Mac and be able to proficiently use Word, Excel, Gmail, Google Docs, Dropbox is a plus
- Position requires 25% travel to cover multiple properties within NYC & Long Island
- Must be able to answer weather related emergencies
