- Translate ideas into compelling drawings, diagrams, and presentations that communicate both concept and constructability
- Lead planting and material strategies that balance ecological performance with strong spatial and aesthetic outcomes
Independent Project Ownership
- Take ownership of projects from concept through documentation, coordination, and construction support
- Make informed, independent design and technical decisions while knowing when to collaborate or escalate
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously with attention to scope, schedule, and budget
- Maintain organized project documentation and communication
Client, Community & Public Engagement
- Act as a primary client contact and design lead in meetings and presentations
- Navigate feedback thoughtfully while protecting design integrity
- Participate in public, civic, and community-facing projects, including coordination with agencies, partners, and stakeholders
Collaboration & Construction
- Coordinate with internal teams, consultants, contractors, and fabricators
- Support construction administration through site visits, reviews, and issue resolution
- Contribute to permitting and agency review processes as required
Qualifications/Requirements
- 5+ years professional garden design and build experience
- Experience producing construction documents, details, and drawings to communicate design intent and support installation using industry standard tools including AutoCAD, Adobe Suite, hand drawing etc.
- Familiarity with exterior design materials, systems, assemblies, and installation practices – including horticultural elements
- Substantial, on-site project management experience and comfort coordinating with trade partners and other stakeholders in real time from concept phase through final turnover
