Compensation: $30-$40/hour

Town and Gardens, Ltd. is seeking a highly skilled and strategic Senior Plant Health Care Technician to take ownership of plant health across NYC’s most prestigious landscapes. As a senior leader in our PHC service line, you won't just apply treatments—you will design the programs, lead diagnostic efforts, and mentor the next generation of specialists. This role offers the unique opportunity to shape our standards of care and share in the firm's success through performance-based bonus incentives tied to revenue development and program expansion. 

Responsibilities/Duties

  • Lead Diagnostics & Strategy: Take the lead in diagnosing complex pests, diseases, and nutrient deficiencies. You will design and implement customized Integrated Pest Management (IPM) programs tailored to the unique needs of high-end urban rooftops and gardens.
  • Master of Execution: Perform the safe and legal application of pesticides, fertilizers, and biological controls, ensuring every treatment meets or exceeds NY State regulatory standards.
  • Mentor and Train: In line with our core values, you will act as a primary teacher—training and advising junior staff and maintenance crews on preventative care strategies and technical diagnostics.
  • Drive Service Growth: Influence the expansion of our PHC service line. You will have the opportunity to drive revenue development and program expansion, with bonus incentives tied to your impact.
  • Consult and Communicate: Serve as the technical expert for our Account Managers and Project Managers, providing clear findings and actionable recommendations for client sites.
  • Regulatory & Safety Stewardship: Ensure impeccable record-keeping for compliance and scouting. You will oversee equipment calibration, rigorous PPE standards, and photographic documentation via our digital software suite.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Licensing: A valid NY State Commercial Pesticide Applicator License (Categories: Ornamental, Turf, and/or Nursery) is required.
  • Proven Expertise: 3+ years of experience in plant healthcare, arboriculture, or IPM with a strong diagnostic ability in ornamentals.
  • Leadership Traits: Experience in supervision or mentorship is highly preferred. You should be organized, calm under pressure, and a clear communicator.
  • Education: A degree in Horticulture, Plant Pathology, or Arboriculture is preferred (ISA Certification is a major plus).
  • Credentials: A valid driver’s license and the ability to travel across NYC sites are required. OSHA-10/30 or related safety training is preferred.
