Start Date: 3/10/2026  Compensation: $30-$40 per hour

Columbine LLC is a fine landscape gardening and design firm founded in 1998.  We work with high-end residential clients throughout Fairfield County, CT and believe deeply in the restorative power of the natural world.  We are seeking a skilled, motivated staff gardener to join our professional team, which is based in Norwalk, CT.  

Position Details

• Seasonal: March–November
• Hours: 30–40 hours per week
• Schedule:  7:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m., Monday–Friday (flexible)
• Compensation: $30–$40/hour, based on experience
• Bonus: Discretionary seasonal bonus

Responsibilities/Duties

• Plant, fertilize, prune, and maintain bulbs, flowers, shrubs, and small trees
• Perform seasonal container and garden bed change-outs
• Prepare planting beds (weeding, grading, mulching, raking)
• Maintain and operate hand gardening tools and equipment
• Support ongoing care for perennials, annuals, shrubs, and trees
• Assist the Lead Gardener with job tracking, scheduling, and basic client documentation

Qualifications/Requirements

• 1–2 years of professional gardening experience preferred
• High school diploma required; some college or horticultural coursework a plus
• Strong plant knowledge and attention to detail
• Reliable, punctual, accountable, and able to work independently and collaboratively
• Physically able to work outdoors in varied weather and lift 50+ lbs
• Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and smartphone required
