Start Date: 4/6/2026  Compensation: $30-33K/year

The Tree Program Manager will work 20 hours/week (86-88/hours month, total of 1040 hours/year) under the supervision of the Executive Director. 

The position is focused on supporting PA IPL’s Roots, Branches, & Hands program. Specific responsibilities include managing tree procurement, distributions, and planting projects; leading the tree education program, and providing program coordination and outreach support.

The Tree Program Manager will exhibit alignment with the mission, vision, and values of PAIPL. This position may require some work outside of business hours and seasonal travel primarily during planting seasons. This position is a remote position located in Pennsylvania.

Responsibilities/Duties

  • Manage forestry projects for Roots, Branches, & Hands to ensure all deliverables are met or exceeded (40%)Support the development of project benchmarks and standards
  • Manage materials procurement and technical bids
  • Coordinate logistics related to all tree distributions and projects
  • Create and maintain data entry and tracking systems for all tree distributions and projects
  • Manage the education program for Roots, Branches, & Hands to ensure all deliverables are met or exceeded (30%)
    • Lead the online training cohorts in Fall 2026 and Spring 2027
    • Coordinate curriculum development and internal training objectives
    • Identify, plan, and serve as lead coordinator for online programming
  • Manage general coordination for Roots, Branches, & Hands to ensure all deliverables are met or exceeded (30%)
    • Support regional outreach and engagement efforts
    • Foster relationships with program partners
    • Coordinate team meetings and program schedule
    • Oversee quarterly workplans, reporting structures, and progress tracking

Qualifications/Requirements

This job requires high attention to detail and ability to manage concurrent deadlines in a dynamic and seasonally fast-paced environment. All applicants should be able to demonstrate how their cumulative experience applies to the job responsibilities. Experience with developing and delivering education programs and/or knowledge of community and urban forestry is strongly preferred along with prior experience in multi-faith settings. A background that includes logistics coordination or project management is desirable. Must be proficient in Google Workspace and Zoom with experience working in Google spreadsheets.

This position is remote with a flexible schedule set between you and your supervisor. Some evening and weekend work is required. It is expected that you will be available during standard business hours to sync with team schedules and existing calls. All staff at PA IPL are required to provide their own working laptop, reliable internet connection, and provide documentation of an active security software license.

The Tree Program Manager must demonstrate readiness to travel across Pennsylvania (travel costs are reimbursable at the federal rate with authorization), hold an active driver’s license, and have access to reliable independent transportation. Minimal lifting may be required.
