Start Date: 3.26.2026 Compensation: $25-35/Hr
New York Decks & Premier Landscapes is New York City's premiere builder of outdoor recreational spaces, roof decks and garden environments. We are seeking an Urban Gardener to join our growing team.
Responsibilities/Duties
- Install & Maintain planters, soil, and plants.
- Knowledge of common garden pests/diseases and IPM.
- Communicate with Clients, operating staff and service staff.
- Perform tasks such as preparing for the day according to the day’s plan, loading in and out of sites, preparing planters, planting, mulching, weeding, pruning, cleaning garden spaces and adjusting irrigation timers.
- Maintain, clean, and organize tools and materials.
- Operating Tools - hand tools, power equipment and various mechanical objects.
- Site Preparation.
Qualifications/Requirements
- Clean driver’s license.
- 1-2 years Horticultural experience.
- Knowledge of plants, pests and diseases of the area.
- Must be able to work independently as well as part of a crew.
- Highly Professional.
- Reliable.
- Candidate must be capable of lifting 40lbs, be comfortable working on a ladder and be active all day long.
- Must be able to work in rain or shine conditions to successfully manage the accounts given.
- Working knowledge of horticulture is required. Experience with plant materials including interior foliage and exterior ornamentals is preferred.
